From the outside, sometimes this energy work may not look like much. But inside, a profound transformation is taking place.
Dave came to me a few years ago, energetically closed and spiritually unaware. He showed up with nothing more than some unnameable pull toward the spiritual world that he could neither articulate nor understand.
And over the years, despite seeming to not progress much, he kept showing up, guided by something quietly brewing… a stealthy transformation already underway.
As his linear, academic mind began to comprehend and accept more foreign and esoteric spiritual concepts, and as his heart slowly began to embody them, he continued to open to the deep and divine stirrings of the soul.

This is often how our spiritual awakening happens. Seeds are planted that slowly and silently take root, unseen, until one day the growth breaks through the surface and makes itself apparent.
In the last 10 days, he reached that breakthrough moment.
True spiritual awakening is not something that can be witnessed visually or categorized clearly. It happens on a profound metaphysical level, deep within, underneath and amidst the day to day workings of life.
But at some discernible point, you yourself begin to clearly feel and recognize the ineffable knowing that something profound is occurring within you.
Since we met four years ago, Dave has attended almost all of my retreats, always retuning back to a life that did not support a spiritual path. And with every retreat, despite listening to the powerful and intriguing stories of other people’s awakening experiences but having nothing to relate it to himself, he kept coming back, continuing to feed some ever-present desire for inner expansion.
Yesterday we wrapped up a 10 day private retreat, and there is no way to fully express what it feels like to watch a blossoming unfold in such rich, tangible ways. I feel a profound joy listening to him express embodied understandings and experiences that, in the past, were incomprehensible and completely out of reach.
Dave is a successful surgeon who has traveled the world and had countless, epic adventures in his life, but the unshakable truth that the inner journey is the most powerful journey we will ever take, is exemplified here.
So when he tells me this was “without a doubt the most powerful 10 days of my life” I not only believe him, but I bear witness to his authentic truth coming to surface.
Faith and trust in some higher process guide us when we cannot see what is happening in the bigger picture. And as we sort through the complexities of what it is to be human, the soul aspect continues to beckon our attention and softly reshape our identity.
If I could share one powerful directive with those seeking to transform, heal and awaken, it would be this:
Go where your intuition pulls you, even when it makes no sense and despite any and all evidence to what seems a seemingly flawed logic.
Especially then.
You are being guided back home, to the truth of who you are. And that is the biggest gift available to you as a human, and the most powerful journey you can possibly take.
