Online Yoga Classes
I currently offer two different yoga options each week ~ something for everyone!
TUESDAY’S – 8:00-9:00am PST – Gentle Yoga & Guided Meditation
This class explores basic movement and stretching poses which allow the body to find greater mobility and flexibility through deep awareness of body and breath. The meditation portion will place a strong emphasis on deep relaxation and general stress reduction, and will vary from week to week, exploring different modalities and techniques. Appropriate for all ages and levels of fitness.
FRIDAY’S – 8:00-9:00am PST – Hatha Slow Flow
A systematic series of poses that build upon one another with a varying focus from week to week. With repetition, Hatha yoga helps build strength, improve flexibility, energizes the body and calms the psyche, creating a sense of balance and harmony in the rest of your life. With strong verbal cues and alternative options given to help you achieve proper alignment, this class is appropriate for those with minimal yoga experience as well as more seasoned practitioners.
Recommendations and Precautions
PROPS: If you have yoga props, please keep them handy, as we regularly use them in class. If you do not own any props that’s ok… I will offer suggestions on alternatives that can be used when necessary, but at minimum, I would highly recommend investing in 2 yoga blocks, which can be found online for about $20/pair.
Other props can be made from common household items. For instance:
– No yoga strap? Use a belt or scarf instead
– No bolster? Use a folded up blanket or a firm cushion
– Other helpful items: a pillow for sitting on or as padding for the knees, a rolled up towel for support in certain poses.
SAFETY: Please keep in mind that while we are incredibly fortunate to still be able to do yoga as part of a community, there are some inherent precautions to be aware of – most notably that I cannot keep an eye on your alignment or offer specific adjustments the way I would in person. Therefore, it is imperative that you listen to your own body as guidance, and honor both it’s strengths and limitations. Feel free to contact me beforehand with any specific questions or concerns.
By attending class you understand that you are responsible for your own health and safety, and your attendance itself will serve as a release of liability.
